Robert Higgs Anti-Bullying Presentations

Confidentiality & Safeguarding Policy

Robert Higgs Anti-Bullying Presentations are designed to promote a culture of open discussion around the issue of bullying. As a result, some children, young people or adults may sometimes wish to disclose a worry or concern about bullying or a bullying situation that they are involved in or have witnessed.

It is my policy to ensure that any such disclosures are treated confidentially unless I have a concern that the disclosure is a safeguarding matter or that a child, young person or adult may be in danger as a result of the disclosure.

In this event my course of action would be to speak confidentially to the member of staff who is present with me during the Anti-Bullying session or the member of staff who is responsible for overseeing my visit.

Members of staff from the school, college or organisation with whom I am working are always present during my Anti-Bullying workshops and drama presentations.

My policy is to encourage staff to take the opportunity during each session to remind all children, young people or adults present of the school, college or organisation's Anti-Bullying Policy. It is also good practice to highlight the correct procedure to be followed in the event of any bullying incidents and the member of staff to whom any incidents or concerns should be reported.

My policy is to promote the message that it is important to tell someone you trust if you are being bullied so that children, young people and adults can find support. Further to this, it is my practice to promote organisations such as Childline, Kidscape and the Anti-Bullying Alliance - all of whom offer online support and guidance on Anti-Bullying.

I have Enhanced CRB Disclosure and keep my safeguarding training up to date in line with any changes as they occur.
