The Boy In The Photograph is a powerful and emotive one man performance based on Robert's real life experiences of bullying at school. The presentation also includes an evaluation questionnaire for each pupil asking them to consider issues in the play, their own experiences and to evaluate anti-bullying policy in their school. The presentation concludes with a Q/A forum which provokes open discussion as Robert talks in greater depth about his experiences.

"The Boy is The Photograph is an excellent portrayal of one young man's experience of bullying. It shows his emotional torment at the hands of the bullies and how he deals with his inner demons. Robert Higgs has experienced this bullying first hand, so through his acting comes the realism of what bullying can do and how the emotional scars never really go away but that we can move on with our lives and succeed which Rob is a real testimony to. He brings to the play his real life experience which makes the play so believable and in parts it is difficult to tell if he is acting as the observer can be so drawn into the story. The young people I watched the play with gained so much from the experience, including empathy for the character, anger at what the bullies had reduced him to and a barrage of other feelings that they felt comfortable to share with Rob and their peers at the end. Well worth watching and so significant for young people as it is a true story which they can relate to."

"Captivated our students and raised awareness of the damage bullying can do. Performed with a gritty realism. Even the most challenging students were spellbound and I would reccomend it for a teenage audience as well as teaching staff."

"A very powerful performance! All those present were affected -
especially when we realised it was based on his real life experiences."

"Successful drama touches the intellect and emotions. It leads to reflection, changed opinions and the development of empathy. It can make you feel uneasy, angry and guilty.
The Boy In The Photograph by Robert Higgs does all of these. I saw the first public performance of this play. Rob’s performance was shocking, powerful and insistent.
The feelings that bullying arouses are explicitly shared and the psychological processes underpinning bullying are revealed, explored and exposed.
It would be hard for any audience not to be touched by this play and it cannot fail to make people think twice about bullying. Robert Higgs’ play does everything that good drama should and forcefully makes it point."
